Q: WHAT DOES A TYPICAL COACHING SESSION INVOLVE?
A: Each session is tailored to the client’s needs and goals. As a guiding principle, our coaches believe in cultivating the four pillars of creativity: instinct, vision, inspiration and craft. You will learn about these concepts and how to apply them to your current songs and future work.
Q: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE TOPICS I CAN EXPECT TO COVER IN MY SONGWRITING COACHING?
A: Your Hit Song Coach will discuss melody writing, lyrical techniques, harmonic progressions, stylistic interpretations, song forms, critical listening, rewriting techniques, writing for assignment vs. writing for yourself, communicating with other writers, communicating with producers, dealing with writer’s block, and building a repertoire specific to your songwriting goals.
Q: I DON’T PLAY AN INSTRUMENT AND I DON’T SING. IS THAT A PROBLEM?
A: No, it’s not a problem. While playing an instrument and singing are helpful tools in writing a song, they are not required. At HitSongCoach.Com we believe in overall musicianship. Helping our clients gain an understanding of basic musical elements and terms needed to write great songs is one of our specialties!
